Kartik Safaya wins it for Spartans

Aananda Spartans won a fun filled high scoring contest against Aananda Titans.

Kartik Safaya chased down the target of 48 in just 4.2 overs.

Batting first, Titans scored a good 47 with the help of some good last over hitting by Vijayraj Singh and Surya Nath Dixit. Arihant Jain conceded 23 of his 2 overs.

This score seemed a stiff one before Karkit Safaya started hitting all the Titans bowlers out of the park.

Kartik ended his innings by a run-out but not before scoring 41 runs in 17 balls with the help of 6 massive sixes, 3 of which were to Arvind Chauhan in one over only.

With this, Kartik made the highest individual score of the season and also helped his team win the match in just 4.2 overs giving a high dose of boost in the run rate for his team.

Out of touch UC beaten by Invincibles

Aananda United Champs who seems out of their sublime touch since last 2 matches were beaten convincingly by Aananda Invincibles in the second match of the Super Sunday.

Winning the toss captain Deepak Aster put UC in to bat first who had the worst start of the season. With captain Sapan Khandelwal standing at the non-strikers end, UC lost first 3 wickets in the form of Krish Soni, Hitendra Gautam and Anmol Agarwal inside power-play.

Pressure got the best of Sapan and he also got his second golden duck of the series which had UC reeling at 4 wickets for just 2 runs. It was only due to 14 extras by Invincibles that UC could manage to reach 26 in their 8 overs.

Invincibles were equally helped by poor bowling by UC conceding 13 extras which helped them chase down the target of 27 in just 6.3 overs.

With this win Invincibles climb to 9th place in the table while UC has dropped out of top 4.

Naman wins it for Gladiators

Aananda Gladiators won the match against Aananda Challengers easily owing to some Super Sixes by Naman Jain.

Batting first, Challengers collapsed for only 26 runs against some amazing spell of 2-1-2-3 from captain Chirag Madaan which also included the first HAT-TRICK of APL-6

In reply, Challengers posed no challenge in bowling and Gladiators won the match in just 6.1 overs with Naman Jain scoring 24 out of 30 runs hitting 3 sixes getting him the Man of the Match.

Warriors Defeat Strikers

Aananda Warriors defeated Aananda Strikers in a one sided afffair.

As always, the bowling stars filled Warriors bowled first restricting Strikers to just 32 in their 8 overs. Lokesh Baswal bowled brilliant spell giving away just 2 runs off his 2 overs.

Shubham Sarolia top scored with 12 runs for Strikers which helped them get to 32.

Mohit Kotwani gave Warriors an explosive start hitting 19 runs of first over of Amit Chandwani picking up 2 fours and a six in same over.

As a result of this over, Strikers never looked in contest and lost the match in just above 5 overs.

Challengers lose yet another last ball thriller

Aananda Challengers lose yet another last ball match to Aananda Spartans in the first match of the second part of APL-6.

Batting first, Challengers scored 33 from their 8 overs. Kartik Safaya who has been the most expensive buy of the APL-6 made his presence felt giving away just 4 runs of his 2 overs and picking up 2 important wickets.

Kamal Ramnani also bowled a maiden double wicket over to restrict Challengers down.

In response, captain Arihant Jain played sensibly and stayed on the crease till 7th over to make sure his team gets across. However, some good tight bowling from Challengers left Spartans to chase 10 runs in their last over.

Atul Goyal bowling last over for Challengers made it easier for Spartans bowling two crucial wides in the over which in the end proved costly.

APL-6 Blasters finish on top at the end of First leg

With an event filled match between Aananda Blasters and Aananda United Champs, the first leg of APL-6 comes to an end.

With this, we break for 3 days on occasion of Durga Pooja and Dussehera.

Teams would have time to go through their performances, retrospect about their combinations, make changes if needed and come back fresh with more energy, intensity and game awareness.

After first leg, Blasters stand on top of the table followed by United Champs and Warriors.

Four teams stand at 4 points each
5 Teams at 2 points

Paltan are yet to get off the mark.

Blasters win the top of the table contest

Aananda Blasters defeated Aananda United Champs to regain their position at the top of the table.

This was the last match before the Dussehra break for APL-6.

Having put in to bat first, Blasters had the most rocking start of the season with opener Vinod Bihari Vyas making up for the last match let downs. He blasted off 35 runs from 19 balls hitting 4 massive sixes before getting out. Blasters posted a tournament highest 64 runs total with the help of his innings.

In response, UC seemed to be under the pressure of the huge target right from beginning.

Some good tight bowling by Blasters bowlers and the pressure of this huge total lead to UC folding for just 28 and giving Blasters not just a win but a big one to boost their run rate.

With this win, Blasters stand at the top of the table with 3 wins out of their 4 matches.

Titans register their first win

Aananda Titans register their first win of APL-6 defeating Aananda Game Swingers by 23 runs.

Batting first, Titans scored 46 from their 8 overs riding on Captain Vijayraj Singh‘s quickfire 13.

Titans also got good help from EXTRAS from Game Swingers that accounted for second best (12) in their innings.

In reply, Game Swingers never looked in contest loosing half of their side for just 4 runs on the board inside first 2 overs.

Surya Nath Dixit gave initial blows to rock the Game Swingers innings while captain Vijayraj Singh wrapped it up in the end by picking up 3 wickets completing his all round performance to win the Man of the Match.

Strikers defeat Invincibles

Aananda Strikers won their second match of the season defeating Aananda Invincibles by 11 runs.

Captain Ankur Khandelwal won the toss and decided to bat first. Only the last over flourish by Bharat Kumar got them to respectable 38 runs total.

In reply captain Deepak Aster started off cautiously whereas wickets kept falling at the other end.

Once Deepak’s wicket fell in 6th over, Strikers tightened the strings and got Invincibles bundled out with 2 balls and 11 runs remaining.

Gladiators win another last over thriller of the day

Aananda Gladiators kept their cool against Aananda Spartans to win yet another last over thriller by just 1 wicket with 2 balls to spare.

Batting first, Spartans struggled to score while Gladiators struggled to bowl in between. Spartans ended their innings with 29 out of which 9 runs were of extras.

Young Rishabh Sharma bowled well picking up 2 important wickets and giving away just 7 of his 2 overs.

In reply, Gladiators struggled equally in batting and Spartans even worse with the bowl, giving away 11 extras. Those extras proved costly in the end and Gladiators won the match in their last over with just 1 wicket remaining.
