Anmol defeats Paltan

Anmol Agarwal led the counter attack on Aananda Paltan to chase down the massive target of 50 runs in 8 overs.

Batting first, Paltan posted 49 with the help of quick fire 17 from Deepak Sharma along with useful contributions from Captain Pranshu Pareek and Praveen Jain.

Chasing 50, UC started drastically loosing captain Sapan Khandelwal for a golden duck.

Anmol steadied the inning while keeping up the run rate in check.

United Champs ended the chase in last over with Bhavesh Soni hitting the final blow to Ashish Sachdeva.

Anmol ended not out on 33 runs of 23 balls with 3 sixes and a 4.

Dynamites post no challenge for Challengers

Aananda Dynamites posed no challenge for Aananda Challengers in Match # 14 of APL-6.

put in to bat first, Dynamites never got off and could only manage to score 22 runs in their 8 overs.

Manish Bhambhu got in his 2 overs with just 3 runs and picking up 3 wickets and scored crutial 6 runs for his team to bag the Man of the Match.

Challengers chased down the score in just 5.1 overe helping their net run rate in the course.

Blaster lose exciting contest to Warriors

Aananda Warriors handed Aananda Blasters their first loss of the season.

Batting first against the best bowling line up of the league, Blasters started off bad with both openers back in the pavillion without scoring any runs.

Captain Ankit Stephen and Ashutosh Vyas tried to steady the innings picking up sharp ones and twos before one such single cost Ankit his wicket.

Some late charge by Nikhilesh and contribution from lower order set a defendable total for Blasters scoring 35 off their 8 overs.

Warriors started off badly loosing their first wicket of Vijay Chanchlani in the very first over with no runs on the board.

Mohit Kotwani however did well on the other end hitting 2 fours and a 6 in his 14 of 7 balls to get Warriors on track.

Some tight bowling from Ashutosh Vyas and Nikhlesh in middle overs saw the wickets fall and runs go down.

With 4 runs to get off last over, Prashant Sharma lofted Vinod Bihari Vyas for six to seal the victory for Warriors.

Vinod Bihari Vyas also conceded 3 penalty runs for fake fielding which in the end proved costly for Blasters causing them to lose the match which they should have won.

Deepak Shines in his first win as captain

Aananda Invincibles defeated Aananda Titans in their first win of the season.

This was also the first victory for Deepak Aster as captain in the APL History.

Titans batting first scored a decent 40 in 8 overs owing to late flourish by Piyush Bhatiya and Jitendra Sharma.

In reply, Invincibles did not start well loosing first two wickets for 2 runs in first two overs. Wickets kept falling at regular interval for Invincibles at one end while Captain Deepak Aster held one end up taking the game to the end.

With 11 runs required of the last over, Deepak hit the second and fourth ball of the over from Ravi Shankar Sharma for six to win the first match for his team.

Game Swingers continues to dominate

Aananda Game Swingers continued their dominance winning their second match in a row defeating Aananda Gladiators.

The youngest team of the championship Gladiators lacked experience which showed up against the super experienced side led by Abhinash Sinha.

Batting first, Gladiators could only manage to get to a total of 23 runs before being all-out in 7.3 overs.

In response, Game Swingers finished the game in just 4.4 overs owing to yet another brilliant performance by Akash Nama who scored 11 runs and also picked up one wicket.

A special mention goes to Mukkul Harsh from Game Swingers who saved more than 10 runs on the boundary in the innings and kept the pressure on.

Depleted Paltan loose to Strikers

Aananda Strikers defeated Aananda Paltan in Match # 10 of APL – 6.

Paltan were not playing their full team and were without the services of their star players Pranshu Pareek and Ashish Sachdeva. Led by Deepak Sharma, Paltan opted to bat first but they could only manage 33 and were all out before their full quota of 8 overs.

Strikers captain Ankur Khandelwal took 3 wickets while Parvinder Soni and Amit Chandwani got 2 each.

In reply, Strikers got off to comfortable start hitting Kaushal Sharma for 13 in his first over. Captain Deepak Sharma bowled superbly in his 2 overs for just 2 runs but that was not enough for Paltan who eventually lost the contest in 7th over of the match.

Spartans register their first win against Dynamites

Aananda Spartans led by Arihant Jain registered their first win of APL-6 against Aananda Dynamites.

Batting first, Dynamites scored a decent 34 off their 8 overs. Satyaveer Singh made a return to APL after missing 2 seasons and contributed well getting to this respectable total.

Spartans chased down the target in 7.4 overs not before loosing 3 wickets.

Captain Arihant played responsibly taking his own time and scoring unbeaten 13 runs off 16 balls to take his team to the much needed victory.

Warriors bundled for lowest score of the season

Aananda Warriors after doing well against Aananda Titans, got the taste of their own medicine in their second match against Aananda United Champs.

Batting first, United Champs struggled loosing both their openers Krish Soni and Sapan Khandelwal for just 8 runs in first 3 overs. UC innings never really got going and they could only manage to score 31 from their 8 overs.

Warriors chasing the target of 32, never really looked in contest loosing starting quick wickets. Inside powerplay, Warriors lost both their openers Garvit Sharma and Dr. Sankalp Bhartiya for just 2 runs.

From there, Warriors lost regular wickets and could only manage 16 runs in their full 8 overs.

All UC bowlers bowled extremely tight line.

Mayank Shrivastava returned to team with a Man of the Match performance.

Blasters hand Challengers their second loss

Today’s second match was the second match for both Aananda Blasters and Aananda Challengers in this league.

Blasters riding on their success against mighty Spartans while Challengers were looking to register points of scoreboard after loosing first match to Game Swingers.

Batting first, Blasters did not do well and could manage a modest total of only 31 runs from their 8 overs.

The explosive duo of Abhay Sharma and Vinod Bihari Vyas did not click today. Ashutosh Vyas held one end up with wickets falling on other end.

Challengers captain Mohit Sahu bowled a firey spell picking up first Five-For of the season.

The most talked about ALL – LEFTY bowling attack of Aananda Blasters bowled superbly to restrict Challengers to only 23 runs of their allotted 8 overs.

Easy win for Gladiators over Paltan

Aananda Gladiators won the match against Aananda Paltan in the first Monday evening match of APL-6.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first against the packed bowling line up of Gladiators was not a wrong decision by Paltan captain Pranshu Pareek.

After an explosive opening from Ashish Sachdeva, Paltan went to 22 in first 3 overs. However loosing regular wickets after that meant the team was left reeling at just 33 at the end of their quota of 8 overs.

Gladiators chased the target down in just 6.4 overs, thanks to EXTRAs (10) from Paltan which top scored in this run chase.
