Aananda Spartans clinched yet another thriller defeating Aananda Warriors by 2 runs.
In this season of low totals, Spartans batting first struggled against the supreme bowling line of Warriors. Cautious start by Shakti Godara and Kartik Safaya meant they had wickets in hand at the end to capitalize, however, Warriors kept it extremely tight and thus, Spartans could only manage 28 from their 8 overs.
Warriors looked on course to chase it down with Mohit giving them the start that was needed, hitting Shakti for a six in his first over.
However, once the openers were dismissed, Warriors lost their way and kept on loosing wickets at regular interval. At one time, warriors were very comfortably placed with just 7 runs to win in 2 overs. However, the regular fall of wickets meant they only had 2 wickets left which in the end proved costly for Warriors.
They were not left with enough fire-power to face the heat from Kartik, Shakti and Arihant and in the end, fell just 2 runs short of the target.
With that, Spartans set a new record of defending the lowest total in the APL-6 tournament so far.
