United Champs move up defeating Gladiators

In the third and final leg of APL-6, Aananda United Champs gained momentum, beating Aananda Gladiators by 9 runs.

Batting first, UC struggled again after captain Sapan Khandelwal was out cheaply. Krish Soni and Mayank Srivastava steadied the innings for UC and they were equally helped by some directionless bowling by Gladiators who bowled 7 extra deliveries in their innings which helped UC get to a respectable 35 runs total.

Chasing 36, Gladiators were caught off-guard by UC with opener Naman Jain going back in very first over and Bhavesh Soni picking up both captain Chirag Madaan and vice-captain Harsh Madaan in the second over of the innings.

Gladiators could never recover from this start, however, even UC bowlers gave away 9 extras but in the end, good tight bowling by UC left Gladiators 9 runs short of target.

With this, UC are now placed 4th on the points table with 12 points and 2 more matches to play.
